It is their love who brings joys to my life more than the lover itself.

It is their love who comforts me more than their hugs.

It is their tender loving care who brought warmness to my soul more than their touch.

I love how a person loves me.

I’m in love with people’s loves….

But not them..

Because

I’ve learned to love only the people who love me.

P.S. I realized one too many times is the Lover who hurt us but not the love itself.

This is my third year celebrating Songkran or more well known as Water Festival. I usually celebrate at Penang island except for this year. It was the first year that the state’s Songkran Festival is held on the mainland. Lim Guan Eng our new chief minister who made the changes. He said there are 7 temples in our state and the festival will be celebrated in different temples every year.

Nice move I must say, otherwise I won’t even know that at Bukit Mertajam have a Wat or two (the other one is the one where mistakenly went in and end up seeing the whole place is empty and nearly gave up and go to the island’s Wat instead). I have some dificulties in finding this Wat Rajaphohong Buddhist Temple that situated in Ara Kuda, Bukit Mertajam. I never even have been near to that road before.

Thanks to TCC’s direction, otherwise I would have miss out a whole load of fun. We reached just right on time, right before me and B looses our mind due to the kids (his 2 bro and a sis + my sis = S.O.S.) whining and questioning on why we took so long to reach.

“The Thai New Year (Thai: สงกรานต์ Songkran) is celebrated every year on 13 April to 15 April. It is also celebrated in Laos (called pi mai lao or ‘Lao New Year’ in Lao), Cambodia, Myanmar (where it is called Thingyan), and by the Dai people in Yunnan, China. Sri Lanka also celebrates a similar festival called Sinhalese and Tamil New Year coincide with this festival, and in India, the Assamese, Bengali, Oriya,Tamil, Punjabi, and Malayali New Years fall on the same dates. “ wikipedia.

I thought Songkran is the New Year for Thais only until now. Besides throwing water to each other, people who celebrate Songkran go to Wat (Monastery) to pray and give food to monks but I went there feed myself and play (OOPs.. shouldn’t have mention that don’t I.. @@”).

Oh well, Songkran is also about making New Year resolutions – to refrain from bad behavior (I wonder if my naughtiness is consider bad?!), or to do good things (be naughty but nice?? lol). It is a time for cleaning and renewal (Sound like some facial wash slogans ^^).

They have stalls selling foods and various items.

They even have DVD stall??!!

They have tradition such as carry handfuls of sand to their neighborhood monastery in order to recompense the dirt that they have carried away on their feet during the rest of the year. The sand is then sculpted into stupa-shaped piles and decorated with colorful flags. I see they made a competition out of that ritual.

Judges giving marks to the sand competition

Pardon me but the stupa-shaped look like poop

wait-a-min..
I’m missing something here..

Water Festival.. Sure must blog about the SPLASHES right?! lol
All i can say is SplashTastic!! The splash is not only limited to buckets, pails or water guns but even the fire-engines also came and hoses us down. It’s like war out there; everybody is splashing at somebody and throwing talcum powder like its FOC. Hours of splashing water seems just like a moment only until the kids came and surrendered saying they can’t take it no more then only we realised it’s already FOUR hours of splashes. When we head home, the revelers there are not done yet but i know we are^^.

“we’re fully loaded!”

It’s WAR out there!!

Me and my army ^^.

My.. my.. b’s all wet..

Can’t wait for next year…

Yumi came back to our little pearl island for Qing Ming from KL, so before she goes back we went out with part of our used to be “kuih club geng”. The restaurant Located at the upper level of our largest mall in northern region, Queensbay Mall.

It is a restaurant with toilet as their theme. Thank god there is no shitty food in their menu although I encounter with some shitty incident during my meal. First Yumi ticked the wrong choice of food for me then when asked for another bowl from the waitress, she also ticked the wrong one. Sheesh. Is it so hard for a girl to get a bowl of curried chicken baked rice?? Sigh.. Well “To add salt to the wound”, literally, my food is too salty. Ouih @@”

Ok lar, Not all the food here taste yucky, some of the food here is still edible. The tomyam soup is very nice since I’m allergic to seafood, the Tomyam Chicken did served me well. The Oreo drink that Alex order taste nice too.

When you dine in your toilet, you probably don’t want to leave out the Kodak moment. Not everyday you get to eat in your “Lavatory”, “Restroom”, “Washroom”, or the simplest “TOILET”.

T Menu

Even their table followed the theme

Shower anyone??

That potty is calling for some Kodak moment.. uhuhuh..

Cute right… but who would ever thought of filling food in the potty..

“What is cosplay?”. A question that I asked myself when I know they are coming to Upper Penang Road for March Little Penang Street Market.
I do a little research at Wikipedia and found out;

‘Cosplay (コスプレ, kosupure?), short for “costume play”, is a Japanese subculture centered on dressing as characters from manga, anime, tokusatsu, and video games, and, less commonly, Japanese live action television shows, fantasy movies, Japanese pop music bands, Visual Kei, fantasy music stories (such as stories by the band Sound Horizon), and novels. However, in some circles, “cosplay” has been expanded to mean simply wearing a costume.’’

At first I intend to enter the cosplay competition but I was too late as the deadline already passed and I don’t have any costume. Oh well, there always be next time. ‘

The market itself was quite interesting with handmade souvenir from seashells to art display. Well the eye opener for me is the Cosplay. Although very little people who joined only, I mean seriously LITTLE!! Only seven participants who entered the Solo Cosplay competition and only 1 group for the Group category (you SERIOUSLY don’t have to sprain your brain about who will win this category).

Although very few who enter but enough to teach me what to do and what not to for future Cosplay competition like this. I came back home all cite about getting myself into the cosplay for the next event they are coming up with at KDU college this June.

Fine Art- They makes art out of those little seashells that we always step on the beach.

My sis at the fundough stall
