2010 New Year Countdown
Location : Auto-City, Prai, Penang
Date: 31st December 2009

 

Lately lazy to group people and go out instead me, my sis, and Mr B we went out to party ourselves. The Star paper stated alot Penang malls is having huge events for the New Year countdown but mostly is in Penang island so in order to skip the jam bridge we choose Auto-City.

 

Not that Auto-City couldn’t be the first choice but their MC always end us with tears of boredom like the that day Xmas eve party but THANK GOD this time it is quite entertaining I must say. MC Kishz did his part very well with his antiques, manage to make the crowd laugh.

 

Went to Boston Yau Yat Seng for dinner..

 

Rather dissapointed as they change their menu and
remove all their infamous pork dish… NOOOOO

 

Wonder whose bright idea is that..

 

I used to go very often to eat their Pork Chop Spaghetti  while Mr B will choose their sizling pork chop meat set
but now, it is all GONE!!! Sobs.. So this will be my last time to there then.. =.=

Anybody wants to have a sweaty and muddy weekend? Eheh.. well almost every year the night before will rain and there goes the field. Don’t prep up too Leng Zhai or too Leng Lui because by the end of the day you might look worst than coming Au-Natural in the first place but I doubt that I’ll go all natural without covering my super panda eyes with concealer.. =P.

Bon Odori is a Japanese Festival that held annualy at the Esplanade Field except for last year due to some renovation. You get to indulge in yummy japanese food, dance to their traditional dance, see alot of “real” japanese (not the fake Kawaii, made in Malaysia mui mui chai) that you don’t even know so much of them exist in Penang ^.^ and the highlight–>> FIREWORKS.

Do’s–
– Wear something light so you can join in for their traditional dance

– Wear slippers, sandals and flip flop so you can walk & dance without worrying about your pretty shoes

– Keep you make up light so you won’t look like a melted wax figurine by the end of the day

Don’t
– Wear thick clothing coz I bet ya.. It will be super hot unless you want to play some strip tease before end of the event

– Wear your favorite Nike, Adidas or even dumber; HEELS to a field
of probably will be wet and muddy like every year does
( gotta say probably or else if no rain by then, I’ll be blame for giving false info & caused some ppl can’t wear their pretty shoes perhaps?!)

– Wear thick make up
( I know this rule but I think I’m going to forgo this.. ^^)

Above are some of the Do’s and Don’t that I gain from my 3 or 4 past trip to this ultra sweaty and quite fun annual event. “Quite” as in if the fireworks nice then it’s good, if the fireworks sucky then it is Quite fun lor… gotta go to judge by yourself at the end of the event.

Friday,

After wor, I rush to rent costume.
At first I was so sad because they don’t have any costume that look appealing to me and
then I saw this fury outfit and thought that it might work as lion by adding ears and tail. So Lion it is.
I swear to ya’ll that it’s the sexiest outfit I ever wear out to face the public.
It took me a lot of guts to bare my whole stomach out to the world when I don’t have Fergie’s body.

 

Okay.. I digressed.

 

After I got my costume I went to buy ticket and unfortunately it’s sold out and left Saturday Noon.
I freak and search and finally settled for Saturday 9am from another bus company name Super Nice
(which extremely not nice at all, I felt as if I sat in a spoilt massage chair during the whole journey).
I went back home and survey on face painting and
Lion pictures on the net and when all done, it’s already close to 4am in the morning.

 

 

Saturday,

Slept at 4am then woke up at 6am to bath and pack my bag.
I rushed and had to wait for the darn bus for 45minutes! See how Not nice is it.
Then arrived around 3pm at Pudu for Shida (Thanks dear for all the help)
to come and pick me up and we went for lunch.

 

 

After that, we search around for make up artist to give me a Lion look.
We search as if we’re on some Treasure Hunting, from Taipan to SS15 to Sunway and
finally found somebody to do the make up at Sunway Pyramid.
I went from shop to shop and got rejection and weird look from people when I asked for Lion face.
Never in my life have I walked into so many Beauty Salons before.
They all are either closed or don’t provide such services. By the time I finished my make up is around 8pm and I’m forced to change into my outfit inside the car (it is Kelisa, so imagine lar ha..).

 

 

 

I reached there around 8.30pm and with heart thumping from all the rushing and puffing,
I end up looking like a scared Lion. I know nobody there and thank god I met Estee,
she’s so kind and we became friends in a snap (too bad didn’t manage to snap picture with her).
Then only I felt like I’m not alone.

 

 

 

Didn’t even cross my mind that I can win nor be the Top 3 Best Dress of the night.
I was chatting at the photo booth when Ah Liang shouted for me a few times and
I walked blurrily there. Took me a moment before I realised it is for the Top 3 Best Dressed of the night.

 

 

 

When they are announcing the Queen of the night, got one kind man asked me;
Stranger: Do you want me to snap picture for you when you receive the prize?

Me: No thanks. I don’t think I will win.

Ah Liang: Jolyn the Lioness!!

Me:*say nothing and just push the camera to the stranger*

 

Wahahahaha.. I thank the Stranger but I don’t know who he is.

 

 

Erm.. After a few ponders..
Okay,I admit.
I do have some luck because of these people;

My Bf – That drive me here and there to search for the outfit and ticket and station etc.

Shida – That Pick me up and drive me around throughout the day at KL.

Yunda – That meet me up just to put my belonging inside his car for safe keeping because hard for me to walk around in a Lion outfit while carrying a bag pack right.. lol

Estee- Who accompanied me throughout the night and be OH SO kind to me.

Mak- Who patient enough to wait for me near to an hour (I told him to pick me up at 10pm) to pick me up to go change and send me to pudu for my 11.59pm bus.

 

 

 

And last but not least all those who voted me for the Queen of the Jungle title.

It have been century ago since the last time I step my foot on Upper Penang Road on weekdays. My newly add telecommunication line, the infamous Celcom that dragged me there. They sms me stated that I’ll get to greet and meet celebrity from Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia. So UPR, here i come. On the newspaper showed that the party is from 8pm until 2am and some advertisement stated as early as 6pm and due to some setback I reach there around 9pm. I thought I will miss all the excitement but when I reached, I can see emptiness.@.@” Slightly glad and ashamed too ( I was nagging inside car for the lateness ).

The beginning was quite good as we’re entertained by the clown silliness and MC of the night Soong Ai Ling and Lil John witty words.My night slowly warm up when I went up the stage for some silly games and got myself some Celcom merchandise. Then the peak kick in when people gotten anxious over the arrival of the stars, all the stars came except stars from Hong Kong. People are quite disappointed when Hong Kong stars didn’t arrive like the MC said. Then they went off the stage area. *Poof* They’re no where at sight.

Then the boring part hit when 2 street magicians performed, who did a lot of mistake up on the stage, “boy talked about the embarrassment” but they did redeem themselves when they came down the stage to perform the Fork Meltdown (some name I came up with). After that performance straight DONE?! i was like.. Wtf.. got beginning, mid then mana End?? sheeshhh…Thought the celeb will come to the stage area,the whole event is so messed up… disappoint the the eager young and old supporters only ( me included, sobs ). Sigh.. I went back home without any pictures of the celeb but just umbrella from Celcom and twisted fork from the Magicians. Oh well.. better than nothing.. ^^

It’s my third year attends to Malaysia Plastic Manufacturer Association annual dinner. It’s stil the same ol Equatorial’s Matahari Ballroom. Finally I got to wear my LBD from Cats & Whiskers that I bought months ago. This time the food is nicer, I guess because of the guest of honor Tan Sri Koh Tsu Koon. The same ol year, the same ol luck; I stil didn’t win anything for the lucky draw part. Sigh.. but I guess it’s alright though because the night is not sucky BUT it could be better if my loyal photographer(ah B) is there with me. ^^
