Duan Wu Jie or Rice Dumpling Festival
falls on 5th day of 5th Month the chinese calendar..
When the date is near, a lot of sister, mother and even grandmother busy
cooking and wrapping Rice Dumpling or ZongZi (Mandarin) or Bak Chang (Hockien)
that are made from glutinous rice, roast pork, dried prawn, salted egg,
mushroom and etc.
Do you know how long it take to make Bak Chang?
The whole process actually can take up to days depend on your recipe.
Cooking alone already took 4 – 8 hours
and that HAVEN include
- Cutting
- Frying
- Wrapping
Some even marinate their ingredients days before they cook!!
